Welcome to Ouray—Glad you chose us. 

We are so grateful you chose us as your home base while visiting Ouray. We feel that we are one of the most incredible mountain towns in all of Colorado. Our unique setting in the valley,  mineral rich colors on the mountain peaks,  gravel roads, and restored Victorian-era buildings on Main Street and in our residential areas make it a fascinating throwback community to visit.  It is becoming wildly popular for visitors, but it is also home to just under 1000 residents who have called Ouray home for generations. The mining history is thick with tradition which is still very present today.

You may have heard that Ouray is the Switzerland of America which will need no further explanation as soon as you cruise into town and see the overarching landscape that will make your jaw drop. The San Juan Mountain range is not only beautiful, but exciting for outdoor pursuits by jeep, ATV, or cross-country skis. No matter when you decide to visit, you will be surrounded by natural year-round beauty.  

Ouray is located on the western slope, far away from the larger population pockets and city vibe of the front range of Colorado.  The location in Southwestern Colorado makes for a super chill, rural experience that many people are looking for in a vacation. Even when our town is hopping with visitors in the summer, it is still a small town with so many trails to explore with very few people.  You will find people who wave to you from their truck, hometown hospitality, a slower pace, local entertainment, and a sense of natural calm from the surroundings. Seriously, you can’t help but fall in love with it…..so we are glad you are here!
